Yoga Blocks: Your Essential Practice Prop

Yoga blocks are versatile and invaluable tools for yogis of all levels. They provide support, enhance stability, and help practitioners achieve proper alignment in poses, making yoga more accessible and comfortable. Whether you’re a beginner working on flexibility or an experienced yogi exploring advanced poses, blocks can deepen stretches, reduce strain, and encourage mindful movement. I often refer to using blocks as “bringing the ground up to you.”

They’re especially helpful in modifying poses, offering connection that might otherwise not be felt. Lightweight, portable, and crazy versatile- my favorite modifications are to use blocks under my hands in lunges & a block to sit on in cow face pose. Blocks are made from a variety of materials such as foam, cork & wood. They have a pretty standard shape, but I personally have a set with a curved side & a set that has a built-in handle option!

The bottom line is: yoga blocks are a simple yet transformative addition to any practice & every person needs at least two at home!
