Hi Friends,
Have you ever taken a “laughter yoga” class? Did you even know that was a thing?! Well, it certainly is & contrary to what you might immediately picture, these classes are not taught by a standup comedian.
Classes consist of different exercises to simulate laughter, because the curious thing is that your brain & your nervous system cannot tell the difference between genuine & manufactured laughter. Both release endorphins, dopamine & serotonin.
If you desire a more tangible approach to a laughter simulator – try bringing a dog into your yoga practice. Everyone who has taken my online classes know that my little dog, Val, has become accustomed to joining me. You also have likely noticed that 98% of the time she just lays sweetly & silently in her same spot. And, though I deeply appreciate that she naturally does this, my absolute favorite are the 2% of the time she gets up & gets silly – because laughing is my absolute favorite.
